Dehradun, Sept 12(BIG NEWS TODAY): Indrani Pandhi has been unanimously nominated as the State Mahila President of Uttaranchal Punjabi Mahasabha at a grand function organised at Dehradun Club on September 9 . The announcement was warmly welcomed by a large number of women members representing various social organisations in Dehradun, along with representatives of the Mahasabha.
Pandhi’s name was proposed by P.S. Kochar, State Treasurer, and G.S. Anand, State Organization Mantri, and seconded by Vijay Kathuria, State Media Prabhari. Karan Malhotra, State President of Uttaranchal Punjabi Mahasabha, visited Dehradun from Haridwar along with Rakesh Malhotra, and formally announced Pandhi’s nomination with the consent of Raj Kumar Futola, State General Secretary.
Indrani Pandhi was welcomed by the members with bouquets and garlands. Speaking on the occasion, she thanked the office-bearers and members for entrusting her with the responsibility and assured them that she would work with dedication for Samaj Sewa, women empowerment and the welfare of society.
She said that committees would shortly be formed in different districts of Uttarakhand to strengthen the women’s wing of the Mahasabha. She further stated that women would be encouraged to come forward not only for the welfare of the Punjabi community but also to work for weaker and underprivileged sections of society.
Indrani Pandhi is the Owner, Chairman and Managing Director of The Himachal Times Group of Newspapers. She is also a Film Actress, Social Activist and Woman Entrepreneur.
She currently holds several responsibilities, including State Mahila President of Bharatiya Janata Mazdoor Sangh, National Chairperson, Women’s Cell, World Consumer Organization, National Secretary of Rashtriya Hindu Jan Kalyan Sangh, National General Secretary of Rashtrarpan Campaign and National Women Youth President of Satya Sanatan Gau Sewa Sansthan.
Indrani Pandhi has also been associated with brand and entertainment assignments as Brand Ambassador of Signora and Talk Titans and as a showstopper for Senco Gold & Diamonds.
In the entertainment field, she has worked in the short film “Byaham – Desire of Marriage” and has completed two music albums. She also has upcoming film and entertainment projects with Bollywood personalities. She was crowned May Queen 2025.

Indrani Pandhi has received more than 400 awards and honours. Her recognitions include Bharat Shree Samman 2025, presented by Murli Manohar Joshi in New Delhi; Ironman Leadership Award 2025; Uttarakhand Ratan Award three times; National Gaurav Award; Daughter of India Award; Woman of Substance Award; Shri Ahilya Bai Holkar Award; and Times Women Achievers Award.
She has also received Nari Shakti Samman from the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and Mahila Shakti Award from the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, among several other honours.
She has been invited as Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and Judge at prominent institutions and events, including The Doon School, St. Joseph’s Academy, Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels, Pacific Mall, IMS Unison University and Winterline Carnival Mussoorie.
