New Delhi/Dehradun (BIG NEWS TODAY): The National Women’s Congress registered its protest in a unique and peaceful manner over the recent statement of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Upholding democratic traditions and the spirit of dialogue, leaders of the Delhi Pradesh Mahila Congress attempted to convey their message by presenting a rose as a symbolic gesture.
The program was organized under the direction of senior Congress leader Alka Lamba. The demonstration remained entirely peaceful and aimed to raise important parliamentary and public issues in a respectful and democratic manner.
On the occasion, National General Secretary of Mahila Congress Shilpi Arora and Delhi Pradesh Mahila Congress President Pushpa Singh were also present. Both leaders participated in the protest along with party workers and stated that dialogue and discussion are the true solutions in a democracy.
As part of the demonstration, a delegation of the Women’s Congress reached the official residence of the Lok Sabha Speaker carrying a rose. The symbolic gesture was intended to send a message that Parliament should be allowed to function smoothly and that meaningful discussions on public issues should take place.
However, due to barricades placed outside the residence, the delegation was not permitted to proceed further. Subsequently, the leaders handed over the rose to the police personnel stationed at the site, requesting them to forward their message.
National General Secretary Shilpi Arora stated that she conveyed a clear message to the Speaker that Parliament should function without disruption. She emphasized that serious discussions must be held in Parliament on unemployment, women’s safety, women-related issues, and broader development concerns.
She further added that there is no need to fear women. Women play a vital role in strengthening democracy and society, and their voices deserve to be heard with respect.
The Women’s Congress leaders reiterated that their action symbolized peaceful protest and commitment to democratic values, expressing confidence that their message would reach the concerned authority.
