The UKSSSC recruitment exam paper leak scandal, which has caused an uproar across Uttarakhand and even at the national level, has been traced back to Haridwar. In a major breakthrough, the police have arrested the mastermind Khalid Malik and his sister Sabia. Both were taken into custody in Haridwar. Dehradun SSP Ajay Singh has confirmed their arrest in a statement to the media.
How the Exam Paper Was Leaked from Haridwar
The most shocking revelation in the investigation is that the exam room where Khalid Malik was seated had no jammer installed. Out of 18 rooms at the exam center, only 15 had jammers. Rooms 9, 17, and 18 were left without signal-blocking devices. Khalid was seated in Room 9 and allegedly used an electronic device to send three pages of the question paper to his sister Sabia, who then forwarded them to Professor Suman Chauhan.
Following the arrest of the mastermind, it is now evident that this operation was not the act of a single individual. Police are closely monitoring Khalid’s sisters, the professor, and even the jammer team. It remains to be seen how soon the full truth behind this high-profile cheating racket will be uncovered.
SP Jaya Baluni Leads Thorough Inspection
SSP Ajay Singh has assigned the investigation to SP Rural, Jaya Baluni, whose team conducted an in-depth inspection of the Adarsh Bal Sadan Inter College, Bahadrabad Jat, Haridwar — the center from where the paper was leaked. The team interrogated the school principal, invigilators, and witnesses for several hours. Based on statements and material evidence, a number of suspects have been taken into custody.
Sabia, Khalid’s Sister, Also in Police Custody
Police investigations confirmed that Sabia, Khalid’s sister, was fully aware of the entire plot. Despite this, she sent the photographed pages of the leaked paper to Professor Suman Chauhan, who returned the answers. SP Jaya Baluni stated that solid evidence of her involvement in the planned cheating led to her arrest.
Professor Suman Chauhan Under Scanner
The involvement of Khalid’s second sister, Heena, and Assistant Professor Suman Chauhan has also come under scrutiny. Professor Chauhan is accused of preparing the answers to the leaked questions. Both are currently in police custody. After Khalid’s arrest, officials believe more layers of the scam will be exposed — from the role of the jammer team to how the electronic device was smuggled into the exam room.
According to sources, police teams from Haridwar and Dehradun are interrogating Khalid at an undisclosed location.
